On Morals & Ethics in the ECoD

Morals are one's own personal understanding of what is right and what is wrong. Ethics are morals petrified into a code of conduct. The ECoD has no ethics, that is, no code of conduct. Moreover, we do not impose any kind of morality on the members of the church; we don't interfere with personal lifestyles or personal choices.

In the ECoD there is one and only one commandment which must be adhered to by all members of the church: "THOU SHALT NOT BE AN ASSHOLE WITHIN THE COMMUNITY." The breaking of this commandment is the only thing that can possibly lead to excommunication from the ECoD. Excommunication meaning getting your ass booted out onto the street.
